Our Wild Summer of Murals Comes to and End!

Arts Gowanus' summer of murals has officially wrapped up with artist Hannah Robinett completing her mural on Union Street, at 3rd Avenue. It looks fantastic! This is the seventh, and final, mural of our summer-long mural project.

All summer, as part of the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs' City Canvas Program, Arts Gowanus collaborated with ArtBridge, The Domain Companies, and Tavros Charney in covering the green fences surrounding construction sites around the neighborhood with artwork.

Many thanks to the artists who collaborated with us on this project: John Azelvandre, David Barthold, Emily Chiavelli, Liza Domingues, Demarcus McGaughey, Hannah Robinett, and Johnny Thornton!  And thanks to our mural installation team:  Ward Yoshimoto, Miguel Reyes, Izzi Penn Sweet, Tiziana Mazziotto, Nick Maggiore, Jon Bunge, Joshua Goodridge, and Nicole Kizuk.

It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun! Take a tour around Gowanus and check out all of the awesome murals! Click here for a map.
