From: Aspen Center For Environmental Studies

Thank you for a wonderful summer!

The 2022 summer season was everything we could have hoped for: it was filled with ecological discoveries, fort-building and first-ever backpacking excursions, wildlife sightings, and connecting through our community events and programs.

Thank you to each and every one of you who joined us for a class, camp, special event, or program. We hope you enjoyed spending time outside with us this season as much as we did with you!

This summer, we were so glad to have many of our favorite events back to normal, like our Picnic on the Preserve, Raptor Fair, Evening on the Lake, and both Burlap and Farm to Table dinners. Thank you to our business sponsors who make these events possible!

Our Naturalist programs and camps continue to inspire people of all ages to learn about and engage with the environment. Many thanks to our Educators, Educators-in-Training, and Naturalists for all their hard work.

Jessica Catto Dialogue

We also welcomed wildfire experts Dr. Jennifer Balch and Stephen Pyne as our Jessica Catto Dialogue series speakers this August. If you missed it, you can stream their presentation, "Climate Change & Megafires in Our Backyard," here.

Special Acknowledgments

We had some fantastic partner programs with Aspen Art MuseumThe Art Base, and Pitkin County Open Space & Trails. We would like to thank several individuals and groups for their special contributions to ACES this season, as well as extend our thanks to the students, parents, & visitors who joined us at Hallam Lake, Rock Bottom Ranch, or off-site.

We hope to see more of you this fall!

"Summer camp is over at ACES and we are already missing the fort building, stream wading, and nights in the backcountry. As we ramp up for winter, we will look to the smiles, laughter, growth, and fun experiences to warm us up under the falling snow."
