A Note From Your Chamber President Elect

The State of the Community Event is October 6. At this event The Chamber gives awards to community members who have made significant contributions to Recreation, Education, Agriculture, Healthcare, Culture, City of Auburn, Placer County, Business of the Year and the prestigious McCann Award. The McCann Award honors the memory of Vernon Gould McCann, a delightful person who spent his lifetime in passionate dedication to Auburn, fighting constantly to make life better for all of its residents. The award was established following Mac's death in 1978, by management at the Auburn Journal newspaper, where he had worked for 63 years. William Pfaff, publisher at the time, hoped it would be an incentive for others to demonstrate the same dedication Mac had shown.

If you know someone who shows this dedication to Auburn, then nominate them for the McCann Award!

Nominations can be emailed to Auburn Journal Managing Editor Bill Poindexter at [email protected] or mailed to Auburn Journal McCann Award, attention Bill Poindexter, 1030 High St., Auburn, CA 95603. Please include the name of your nominee and a description of why you believe they should receive the McCann Award. Nominations will close Friday, Sept. 9.

We have cancelled the September Power Lunch so that our staff and board can attend the memorial of one of our past Board Members/Chamber Member and Dear Friend the late E. Ken Tokutomi.

Ribbon Cuttings

Join our ambassadors for a Ribbon Cutting with the Rocklin Chamber at Walker's Office Supply's new location! The open house will be going from 4pm-7pm with the Ribbon Cutting at 5:30pm.

Little Bird Merchantile's Upcycled Tray Class

Come and learn the art of transfers and decoupage as you create your own tray from upcycled kitchen cabinet doors. Dori from Everything’s Hunky Dori is again with us to teach this great fall focused class! Select from a variety of transfers, stamps, and vinyl wording to create a beautifully unique wood tray. All supplies and instruction included in the $70 class fee, and of course we’ll have snacks and libations.

Wine'd Down Wednesday at Springhill Suites

SpringHill Suites Auburn invites you to the back patio for our first Wine'd Down Wednesday Patio Performance.
