Clubs and Organizations

December 14, 2023

From: Auburn Chamber of Commerce

It's December, which brings festive lights and decorations, holiday celebrations, yummy treats, and a change in the mood and feelings of our community. It also brings the bittersweet understanding that my time as your Chamber President is drawing to a close. As we move through "the most wonderful time of the year" I'd like to remind you of a few things:

First and foremost, whatever you celebrate this time of year, do it with joy in your heart! There are many holidays, celebrations, and traditions and I sincerely hope that however you celebrate you take a moment to absorb the joy, feel the love and celebrate the people and things that truly matter.

Speaking of things that truly matter, our wonderful community is one of those things. Remember to choose Auburn first! If you're shopping, eating, celebrating...whatever you're doing please do it with a mind to supporting our local community. Our locally owned businesses are the backbone of our community and now more than ever, they need our support. My favorite thing about the Chamber is the connectedness I feel from being a part of things. I encourage you to seek those connections and support your neighbors.

At the Chamber we have one Mixer left for 2023. It's a Tabletop Mixer that will be held on Thursday December 14th at 5:30pm at ARD. Businesses will each have a table to display their products and share their information. There are still spaces available. Contact the Chamber office to reserve your space. As always there will be great food and drinks, and most especially, you will find the connectedness to your fellow community members that we all enjoy.

Finally, as 2023 is coming to an end I do find joy in looking to the future. It will be 2024 in a few short weeks and with the new year comes a new board and a new president at the Chamber. Gary Gilligan will be our new president. He and his board will be installed on Friday January 26, 2024 at a dinner event at The Ridge. There are sponsorships and tickets available. Please join me in welcoming Gary and the new board!

Finally, I will close this year the way I opened it, with the belief that "We Can Do It!"

Happy Holidays and all my best for a healthy and prosperous 2024.
