This Week at the Auburn Chamber

Oh boy have the skies opened up or what?!? Although I am really enjoying all the extra moisture that we are getting and hope that it helps with our fires this summer! I am really enjoying the snow as well! It is so great to see all the pictures of snow on businesses that usually never get snow! I know my trek home might be a little sloppier than I am used to, but who doesn't like some excitement and white knuckles??

Ok let's turn to sunnier days.... St. Patrick's Day! The rain will have stopped, the sun will come out and there will be pots of gold at the end of the rainbow! We are really excited to making the St. Patrick's Day Parade an OFFICIAL Chamber Sanctioned Parade, we are also excited about the addition of a delicious Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, Live Music and Drinks after the Parade. We are limiting our VIP/Sponsor tables and we are already 2/3 Full! If you would like to sponsor, get all the acknowledgement and advertising it's only $600 which includes a table and drinks for 8! For just a VIP table with reserved seating and drinks for 8 and your own waitress on wheels (Thanks Roller Derby Gals) it's only $350, 2 General Admission Tickets and Drink Tickets and Logo acknowledgment is $100 and just a single dinner ticket is ONLY $25! This is a VERY affordable and FUN dinner, you won't want to miss! I want to thank the Sugar Plump Fairies who will be helping serve dinner and the Roller Derby Girls who will be serving our Sponsors and VIP Tables and making sure their green beer doesn't get too low.

Sight Word Busters!

Do you enjoy working with children? Would you like to help boost the reading and learning skills of local students? If so, you may want to become a Sight Word Buster! The Sight Word Busters program is made up of volunteers who spend, on average, one hour per week working with students in local primary classrooms.

At the kindergarten level, volunteers help students learn letter names, sounds, and the first sight words. In the first and second grades, volunteers help students master a list of 300+ high frequency sight words and reinforce other reading skills being taught at these grade levels.

Volunteers need no prior knowledge or training. The Sight Word Busters program provides volunteer training and support.
