Ever wonder why your community library is named
the Becket Athenaeum?

Well, we heard from a few of you asking this exact question in our most recent survey. In response to your questions, we researched what makes a library an athenaeum, while asking ourselves: "Do we meet that definition?"  Upon resolving that we most definitely meet the definition, we began working on a "What is an Athenaeum?" display and educational outreach to share with our community.
