Volunteers Are Still Needed!
November 6 & 7, 2015
Volunteers are still needed for this wonderful event, especially for Saturday night, November 7th. The shifts on Friday and Saturday, November 6th and 7th are from 4:30 pm to 7:15 pm and 6:45 pm to 9:15 pm. Friday early shift is happily filled, but we would love your help on the three other shifts of the event!
As a thank you, each volunteer is invited to tour the homes on either night complimentary, a $30 value. Volunteers are also invited to tour the Member's Only House.
This annual tradition needs your participation! Please consider being one of the over 350 volunteers who give of their time to ensure this community home tour is a success. It is a great opportunity to engage with others, and tour a terrific selection of homes and historic sites.
This year's tour features houses along Prince George Street and Maryland Avenue. Additionally, the Jonas and Anne Catharine Green House on Charles Street will also be featured. As a general policy, we try to keep all the houses in close proximity, however this year we felt compelled to include the Jonas and Anne Catharine Green House. The home is currently owned by Randy and Dede Brown and has recently been placed on the market. While Randy and Dede have been more than gracious about opening their home, there is no guarantee that the new owners will be so generous. This time may be the last time the public will have the opportunity to see this Annapolis treasure.
You will be contacted with your site placement by November 3. Shifts will be assigned in the order the volunteer form is received. Every attempt will be made to honor your first choice, but if you are available for an alternate shift, please indicate a second, third and fourth choice.
Also, please indicate if you have a partner, friend or group, so that you can be put on the same shift and house. It would be helpful to fill out the form together and return it, with all the contact information (name, email, phone and address).

Volunteer forms are also available at the Museum Store and the William Paca House.
House Captains are also needed! House Captains are responsible for contacting home owners before the tour and email reminders to the assigned volunteers. They will collect any additional information about the home. They will open the home at the start of the tour, put out the luminaries, ensure the volunteers are in their correct positions and close the home at the end of the tour per the owner's instructions.
House Captains will receive two additional complimentary Candlelight passes. These can be given to friends or family. This allows the House Captain to tour the homes with their guests on the opposite night of their assigned night. Please indicate on your shift form if you would like to become a House Captain, and I will happily provide you with more details.
