Bentonville Public Library (BPL) recently announced the opening of a new entrance to its parking lot on the south end next to Bentonville Glass on Main Street. On Friday, August 19, the Library officially closed its legacy entrance on the north end of the main lot on Main Street.

During BPL’s expansion planning phase, the community shared concerns about the safety related to the Main Street entryway. Library visitors, trail users and vehicles circulate in the same congested area along the front of the building.

The Library took those concerns into consideration and is working to remodel the parking lot to make accessing the Library safer for all. To better circulate vehicle traffic away from pedestrian traffic, vehicles will now enter and exit on the south end of the lot for parking.

Outdoor book drop access will now be on the east side of the Library. Vehicles can enter on SE A Street specifically to return items to the book drop and can exit from that same location. In addition, SE 4th Street is closed to vehicles and through traffic.

The Library appreciates patience, cooperation and understanding during this time of growth and opportunity. Bigger and better things are coming!
