Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?:

Winter Reading Challenge

December 27th-January 21st

Preschool-Grades 5

Build your own snowman as you read for 20 minutes a day from Dec. 27th-Jan. 21st! Turn in your snowman reading log to the Children's Department from Jan. 21st-31st to pick up your prize! Reading logs are available to pick up in the Children's Department or you can download and print one HERE.

NEW! IR (Immersive Reality) Books

Immersive Reality (IR) Books combine cutting-edge Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology with traditional children’s books. The first of their kind, IR Books redefine the learning experience and allow children to “read it, see it, and live it.” With IR Books, young readers can find themselves floating in outer space, swimming with great white sharks, or skimming along the Great Wall of China — while learning about astronomy, zoology, and geography.

Berlin patrons can access these new Immersive Reality Books for free. All you need is a library card and a free app that’s available for both iOS and Android. Exploring new worlds is as simple as checking out an IR Book Kit (we have 18 titles), downloading the app, and popping on the goggles! IR Book Kits check out for three weeks. Ask us for a demo!
