- While competing for the Republican U.S. Senate nomination, Bernie Moreno argued for national legislation banning abortion… and previously has described himself as “100% pro-life without exceptions.”

- [President of Ohio Right to Life, who endorsed Moreno, Mike] Gonidakis said Ohio Right to Life supports restricting abortion through national legislation.

- During Ohio’s Republican U.S. Senate primary contest, Moreno and other Republicans had said that abortion remained a federal issue despite the November vote…They opposed the November abortion issue, and Moreno gave $100,000 to the effort to defeat it.

- He described himself as “100% pro life with no exceptions” and said abortion is “murder” during an interview that year with Breitbart News.

- Katie Smith, an Ohio Democratic Party spokesperson, said Tuesday that Trump’s announcement doesn’t change what Moreno has said in the past. “Bernie Moreno believes abortion should be illegal in all cases, including in cases of rape, incest, and the life of the mother, and would overturn the will of Ohioans by voting for a national abortion ban,” Smith said.
