The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce produced another stunning, sold-out signature event, An Evening with the Mayor: State of the City Address presented by Aston Martin Beverly Hills, Optimum Seismic, Torrey Pines Bank, and The Mani Family, on September 28, 2022. With over 700 members and distinguished guests in attendance, the grounds of the beautiful Greystone Mansion were filled with life. The highlight of this intimate evening was Honorable Mayor Lili Bosse’s delivery of the annual State of the City Address, a speech that acknowledged the achievements reached in her term thus far.

Deep Dive: Beverly Hills Real Estate Market

With cooler temps coming everyone is trying to gauge the temperature of the real estate market.  It continues to be a time of volatility, especially with mortgage rates.  In January of this year, rates were still in the 3s, believe it or not.  And then, in the blink of an eye seemingly, they shot up to the 4s and 5s, and recently flirted with the 7s. Throughout Greater Los Angeles, some areas are heavily skewed toward sellers and some areas are actually becoming more buyer-friendly. In general, buyer demand has waned, home values have come down somewhat, and inventory is on the rise.

CHAMBER, CITY & COUNTY UPDATES

Los Angeles County to Explore Providing Supplemental Paid Leave for Monkypox and COVID-19

On September 27, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion authored by Supervisor Hilda L. Solis and Supervisor Sheila Kuehl to investigate the possibility of providing supplemental paid sick leave for Monkeypox and COVID-19 patients. Assembly Bill 152 has extended California's COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave through the end of 2022. However, the bill does not provide paid leave for people suffering from Monkeypox. A further discussion of the issue will take place at the October 18th meeting.
