The New England Bill Koch Youth Ski League (NEBKYSL) Festival is the marquee event of the New England Nordic Ski Association Bill Koch Youth Ski League. This league has the mission to introduce young people to the lifelong sport of cross-country skiing, and the many associated health, fitness, and social benefits, in a fun, inclusive, and safe environment. This fun youth festival will feature racing, as well as a wide range of non-competitive winter activities. Skiers of all ability levels from kindergarten up to 8th grade are welcome!

Schedule of Events

March 1, 2024

1:00 - 4:30pm: Course open for preview. Rikert trail pass price $25 for all non-Festival participants on site for the weekend
5:00 - 7:00pm: District Chair Packet/Goody Bag Pick-up (Rikert Barn)
7:00pm: District Chair Team Captain's Meeting (Bread Loaf Inn)

March 2, 2024

7:50 am - 4:30pm: Tri-Valley Transit Snow Bowl Shuttle running from Middlebury
8:00am: Courses open for preview
8:00am: Day-of Registration Opens (Rikert Barn)
10:00am-2:00pm: Press Forward Mini-Marathon Open; refer to map for route to Burgin Lodge and back
10:00am-2:00pm: Non-competitive Activities including: Laser Biathlon, Bump Jump, Story Book Ski, Fixit Station, UnTapped Terrain Park,
9:45am - 3:30pm: GMVS Classic relays and awards by grade (Next to Milk House)
9:45am: Grades 1/2 Classic Relay (2 x 1km loop)
10:25am Girls Grade 3/4 Classic Relay (2 x 1km loop)
11:15am: Boys Grade 3/4 Classic Relay (2 x 1km loop)
12:00pm: Participants line up for Festival Parade (Assemble in the field over by the Inn)
12:15pm: PARADE! (March to the Milk House, through the district tents)
12:30pm: GMVS RELAY AWARDS for Grades 1/2 and 3/4 (Next to Milk House)
1:00pm: Girls Grade 5/6 Classic Relay (2 x 2km loop)
1:30pm: Boys Grade 5/6 Classic Relay (2 x 2km loop)   
2:00pm: Girls Grade 7/8 Classic Relay (2 x 2km loop)
2:30pm: Boys Grade 7/8 Classic Relay (2 x 2km loop)
3:10pm: GMVS RELAY AWARDS for Grades 5/6 and 7/8 (Next to Milk House)  
7:00pm - 8:00pm: District Chair Bib Pickup, by district (Bread Loaf Inn)
