Honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change

Brewster, NY –April 30, 2022 – We are less than 2 months away from our 2022 Relay For Life! Are you ready to Relay with us and make an impact in the fight against cancer?

Join us on Saturday, June 4 at the Brewster High School track from 5 PM to 10 PM as we come together to celebrate cancer survivors and thrivers, remember loved ones lost and fight back as a community! The funds raised through Relay For Life fund breakthrough research, education, advocacy, and support for all those affected by cancer, including right here in the Brewster community.

Kate Corsitto, your American Cancer Society Staff Partner for your 2022 Relay For Life of Brewster shared her personal connection to cancer and reason to Relay, “I Relay in memory of my dad and my aunt who lost their battles to cancer. I Relay in honor of my dear friend who is currently battling metastatic breast cancer. I FIGHT BACK each year as a staff partner and as a local fellow Relayer so that one day (I hope in my lifetime) we hear the words, "All cancers are cured!". I Relay with HOPE!”

This year’s event welcomes you back to the track! We have an afternoon and evening full of activities beginning at 5 PM with our Opening ceremony, followed by our complimentary Survivor Dinner sponsored by Aversano’s to celebrate all our thrivers. We have a packed schedule full of local entertainment, Zumba, lawn games, and lots of fun activities that our Relay teams will be hosting. At 9:00 PM we will illuminate our track with Luminaria Bags to honor all those affected by cancer. It is truly a magical experience to walk the track together during this ceremony!

We welcome everyone from our community to join us for the day, to create a Relay team, host a vendor or business table, sponsor our event and be part of the movement to end cancer.

The event is supported by many local community partners including Nuvance Health, Volz Auto, Patterson Auto Body, Brewster HamletHub, and the Putnam Press Times. Special thanks to Brewster Central School District for hosting our event.

Relay For Life continues to be more than just an event - it’s a movement, a community of like-minded survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and participants who believe that the future can be free from cancer.
