Businesses : Get Free Online Expertise Through New Tempe Online Platform

The City of Tempe will launch a new online platform especially to help local businesses succeed at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Tempe City Council Chambers. 

Tempe Biz HUUB is a free, city-wide online community and resource center for small businesses. Packed with free on-demand business tips from local experts, businesses can get assistance for nearly any kind of issue 24/7/365. There is no cost to Tempe businesses to use this portal. 

"Today's small business owners must have expertise in everything from social media to accounting, HR, and legal issues. Tempe Biz HUUB provides these resources so that businesses can focus on doing what they love - delivering the best products and services they can. This platform will help our businesses thrive," said Tempe Mayor Corey Woods. 

The platform is provided by HUUB, a spin-off from the leadership of CO+HOOTS, an entrepreneur resource center that was ranked the No. 4 coworking space in the nation by Inc

"We're really excited to offer this award-winning service to our businesses," said Tempe Economic Development Program Manager Jill Buschbacher. "Businesses in other cities using HUUB have reported significant revenue increases and cost savings and we’re looking forward to similar results in Tempe."

Of the 2,500 businesses using HUUB, 87% saw improved revenues, 67% lowered expenses and 87% improved their operations.

The platform offers everything from free online workshops to an extensive library of helpful videos on just about every business topic. There are online peer-to-peer support options so people can share ideas and solve issues together. More than that, Tempe Biz HUUB will post information about local, regional and federal grants and program opportunities so businesses won't miss out. Those who register with Tempe Biz HUUB can also book time with vetted experts at a set rate for more personalized help. 

Get a step-by-step introduction on how to use the platform and see all its benefits at the Tempe Biz HUUB launch event at Tempe City Council Chambers at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. Meet the HUUB team as well as representatives of City of Tempe Economic DevelopmentTempe Chamber of CommerceDowntown Tempe Authority and Tempe Tourism Office. 

The program will also be streamed live on tempe.gov/Tempe11. People can also watch and ask questions on Webex. Once registered, those interested will an email with all the codes needed to attend online.
