Call For Artists : 'Picture This' Temporary Public Art Project

Government and Politics

May 16, 2022

From: City of Dublin

The City of Dublin is partnering with other Tri-Valley municipalities to host a regional temporary public art project, "Picture This."  The project is seeking artists to come up with original and unique designs for the borders of wood frames, which have a four-foot by three-foot opening and a five-inch border all around.

These frames will be erected to be six-feet tall and stand in picturesque locations throughout the Tri-Valley, where visitors and residents are invited to pose to take selfies and interact with the original frames.  The finished art frames will be on view at the respective cities’ and towns' art centers, libraries, community centers, and parks.

Artists who wish to participate will submit colored sketches of their designs for what they envision for the frame (limit, three designs per person and/or “art team”).  When considering possible design themes, artists are encouraged to think of themes that represent the Tri-Valley; activities that take place in the Tri-Valley; and what the area has to offer.  Artists are free to illustrate any concept they would like, but should consider that their design needs to be a clear representation of what the final project will look like, and it should be appropriate for public display.  The deadline to apply is May 27, 2022.
