Call for Candlelight Volunteers 2012

Clubs and Organizations

September 6, 2012

From: Historic Annapolis
Historic Annapolis is currently planning its 21st annual Annapolis by Candlelight. As you may have already heard, this year's tour will feature homes along; Martin Street, East Street, King George Street, Maryland Avenue, and Hanover Street.

I hope you will consider joining us as a candlelight volunteer. To ensure all houses are staffed and ready to open promptly and to guarantee that shift changes occur smoothly, shifts will be from 4:30p.m. to 7:15p.m. and from 6:45p.m. to 9:15p.m. In return for your generous help, you will be given free admission to the event!

If you are interested and available to volunteer, please download a form from the link below.

Forms should be returned no later than Monday, October15th

to: marcos.salaverria@annapolis.org

or Walk-in: 18 Pinkney Street Annapolis, MD 21401

Assignments will be made in the order in which they are returned. Every attempt will be made to honor your first choice, but if you are available for an alternate shift, please indicate a second, third and fourth choice. Additionally, please indicate if you have a partner with whom you would like to serve. There is no need for each partner to fill out a separate form, but you may fill out the form together and return it. You will be informed of your site placement by late October.

This year volunteers willing to serve as house captains are especially needed. House captains are responsible for contacting home owners before the tour to collect any additional information about the home, opening a home at the start of the tour, ensuring that volunteers are in their correct positions throughout a home, and closing a home at the end of the tour per the owners' instructions. As a thank you volunteers willing to serve as a house captain for a whole evening will receive two additional complimentary Candlelight passes that can be given to friends or family that allows captains to tour the homes opposite to the night that they are volunteering along with their guests. If you would like to serve as a house captain please indicate this on your shift form.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone at 410-267-6312 or by email at marcos.salaverria@annapolis.org

Additionally, if you have any friends and family, or if you belong to any social or civic groups who may be willing to volunteer please let me know. I would be glad to send them information about the event. You only need to reply once if you are interested and available to help with Candlelight as I will keep an accurate record and count. Please also feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone else you may know that would be interested in helping out with Candlelight.
