Oh, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ! The City of Fontana’s Community Services Department is excited to announce its Spring Production, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr. Local talented youth from ages 7-18 are invited to audition for a variety of parts. Auditions will be on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium (8437 Sierra Ave).

Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Sherman brothers songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds”, and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” as well as wonderful new songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. With colorful characters and an irresistible score, Mary Poppins, Jr. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser and a cast favorite.

To audition, participants will need to prepare to sing 16 – 32 bars (about 45 seconds) of a musical theater song of their choice, wear dance athletic attire, and provide a headshot (4x6 or larger) with a resume. There is no charge to audition and audition appointments must be made in advance. Each audition is booked in 1-hour increments.

Performances will be held at Steelworkers’ Auditorium: Friday, April 21, 2023, 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, 2:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. and Sunday April 13, 2023, 2:00 p.m. If participants are chosen to be in the cast, there will be a $17 participation fee due on the first day of rehearsal. Attendance is required for cast members at rehearsal. Actual attendance for each rehearsal is dependent upon role of cast member. (Rehearsal time and location subject to change).
