From: The Maritime Aquarium

Take Mom to Meet Sono and Gracie this Weekend!

This past weekend, our one-month-old harbor seal pup, Sono, was welcomed to his new home in Pinniped Cove by his mom, Gracie! Apprehensive at first of the new space, he quickly adjusted – diving to new depths and exploring the habitat’s many caves and alcoves. Please keep in mind that while Sono makes this big transition, he may not be visible to guests at all times.

Celebrate mom with a trip to The Maritime Aquarium to meet them – along with sharks, otters, sea turtles, meerkats and more – this weekend!

Still Need to Make Summer Camp Plans?

Dive in and explore the fantastic ocean of wonder at our summer camp. Our summer program integrates science with art and literature to deepen children’s understanding of animals and the environment. Here are just two of the many programs we have to offer:

Amazing Animal Architects | Ages 6 - 8 | July 17 - 21

Ever wonder how a beaver builds its dam, or how a robin makes a nest? In our newest offering, campers will put on their engineering hats and explore the amazing ways animals can change the habitat around them. From burrowing owls to meerkats, they’ll learn how our animals at the Aquarium and their counterparts in the wild dig, build, use tools, and more.

Fin-Fluencers | Ages 9 - 12 | July 24 - August 4

Calling all aspiring social media influencers! Animals like seals and sharks need our help. Campers will gain a deeper understanding of conservation through hands-on activities and will use their voice to communicate what they’ve learned by writing, filming, and editing their own videos.
