Make a Plan for Voting
Make sure you’re registered to vote and decide now if you’re going to vote at the precinct on November 8th or by absentee ballot.  Absentee voting requires submission of a ballot request, which can be done online, by mail, drop box, email, or in-person at the Township Clerk’s office. Mail delivery times are unpredictable, so we are recommending completing the process as early as possible.  Ballots can be issued by mail until November 4th or in person until November 7th.  At this time, voter registration can only be done in-person (with proof of  residency) at the Clerk's office and is available through election day.  The Clerk’s office is holding special hours to assist voters on Saturday, November 5th 8 am-4 pm.  Visit www.Mi.gov/vote for voting related info or contact the Clerk’s office at 248-887-3791 x 5 or [email protected]
 Things to know about voting:
- Visit Mi.gov/Vote to look up your precinct and district info
- All voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Absentee voting is a two-step process:
1) Application - visit Mi.gov/vote or contact our office to obtain one
2) Ballot - mailed by our office after processing the application. Voters must return the ballot with a valid signature on the envelope by 8:00 pm election day.
- Applications should be submitted as early as possible to make sure that there’s time to complete the process by election day.
- The most reliable way to submit your application or ballot is to bring them to our office (drop box is out front of the town hall).
- You can check to see the status of your ballot or application at Mi.gov/vote

Oak Wilt  Pruning

Oak Wilt Risk
Greatest Risk is April 15 through July 15
Lower Risk is March 15 through April 14 and July 16 through October 31
Safest Period is November 1 through March 14

Sap beetles which commonly spread the pathogen to fresh wounds (e.g. pruning cuts) are becoming active so now is the time to stop pruning oaks or, if you must prune, cover wounds immediately with tree-wound or latex-based paints. Likewise, avoid moving firewood as it could potentially spread oak wilt fungal spores.
