This morning, the Albany Police Department was alerted by the Albany Unified School District that members of their Albany High School faculty received email messages that contained offensive comments and language of a threat at the high school for today.

The investigation quickly revealed that several different student accounts were accessed last night and used to send these emails. The investigation is ongoing and public safety remains the utmost priority for both the Albany Police Department and the Albany Unified School District. In an abundance of caution, patrols at the school have been increased.
