City of Alhambra News - Construction on Alley Rehabilitation Project

Government and Politics

August 26, 2022

From: City of Alhambra

This notice is to advise you that the City of Alhambra has awarded a contract to Kalban, Inc. for the construction of the 2021 Alley Rehabilitation Project. Construction consists of the full depth

removal and reconstruction of the existing pavement on selected alleys near your property.

Weather permitting, the preparation for construction is expected to begin August 25th, and is anticipated to last approximately 2 weeks.

We will make every effort to allow as much access as possible during construction. However, driving over concrete without fully curing will crack and damage new concrete. Please obey all

“No Parking” signs, construction safety signs, and barricades, as those are placed for your safety.

We thank you for your cooperation during the construction and assure you we will move through the project as efficiently as possible to minimize any inconvenience.

For questions regarding the project you may contact the project manager, City of Alhambra Engineering Associate, Robert Bias at 626-570-5062 or by email at [email protected].

WILL RESIDENTS BE ABLE TO ACCESS PARKING THROUGH THE ALLEY?

NO. Driving on the alley during excavation and during the curing of concrete will not be allowed. Overnight parking enforcement will be relaxed during the construction of your alleys,

when your parking is not accessible.

WILL TRASH STILL BE COLLECTED DURING CONSTRUCTION?

YES. Kalban, Inc. and the City of Alhambra and Republic Services are working together to ensure your services are not interrupted.

- Single family residents with regular trash cans: Residents must place their bins at the front of the residency to have their trash picked up on the regular trash collection date.

- Multi unit residents with 2 or 3 capacity bins: In some of these cases, please note that the bins will be placed on a designated area on the street for your access and to be accessible

by Republic Services.

If you have any questions about how your trash collection service will be effected by this project, you may call Republic Services at 888-299-4898.
