Temporary Seasonal Ground Workers

Multiple Departments                        

The City of Athens is accepting applications for part-time temporary positions.  

- Part-time Temporary only.  No Benefits  
- Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of application
- Valid driver's license or ID
- Pay Rate:   $13.00 hour
- Up to 29 hours per week/58 hours per pay period

Public Works Department

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  leaf pick up, mowing grass, weed eating, landscaping, general equipment operation, grounds maintenance and clean up, painting, waxing floors, minor equipment operation, general park maintenance, cleaning restrooms, and other maintenance and clean-up duties.  

Cemetery, Parks & Recreation Department  

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  mowing grass, weed eating, landscaping, general equipment operation, grounds maintenance and clean up, painting, waxing floors, minor equipment operation, cleaning restrooms, and other maintenance and clean-up duties. May include lining ball fields and general park maintenance with CPR.   

Water Services Department 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  mowing grass, weed eating, landscaping, grounds maintenance and clean up, painting, waxing floors, general maintenance, cleaning restrooms, and other maintenance and clean-up duties.
