Azle City Council and City Staff worked throughout the summer to prepare a budget for the new fiscal year that begins on October 1.

A proposed budget was presented to City Council in August and City Council and Staff held a work session on August 16, 2022 to review and discuss the proposed budget and property tax rate.
Public hearings on the proposed FY 2022/2023 budget, property tax rate and water/sewer rates were held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
On Monday, August 29, 2022, Azle City Council approved ordinances to adopt a budget (Ord 2022-19), set the tax rate (Ord 2022-20), and set water/sewer rates (Ord 2022-21) for FY 2022/2023. Azle water/sewer customers will see no increase in rates. The property tax rate for FY 2022/2023 was set at $0.623426 per $100 valuation, which is a reduction from the prior rate of $0.646149. Individual taxpayers’ property taxes may decrease, increase or remain the same depending on changes in the appraised value of their property.
