City of Blue Springs News : Mayor Carson Ross Hosts Annual Christmas Lighting TreeCeremony on December 6

Join Mayor Carson Ross and the City of Blue Springs as we kick off the holiday season with the 2022 Annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 6. This free, family holiday event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will take place outside City Hall at 903 W. Main Street in downtown Blue Springs. 

“Bringing our City together to light the Christmas Tree is always one of my favorite events of the year,” said Mayor Carson Ross. “Please join me as I kick off the holiday season in Blue Springs with this wonderful community tradition.”

Pete Grigsby, KMBC Channel 9 Meteorologist and Blue Springs School District instructor, will join Mayor Ross as Master of Ceremonies and entertainment will be provided by choirs from James Lewis Elementary, Franklin Smith Elementary, Sunny Pointe Elementary, and Lucy Franklin Elementary prior to the lighting ceremony. Mayor Ross and special guests will begin the countdown to “flip the switch” to light the tree and City Hall at approximately 6:20 p.m. Once the lights are on, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive and be ready to hear the Christmas wishes of all the boys and girls. 

Complementary hot dogs and chips donated by Blue Springs Ford, cookies and hot chocolate donated by Cosentino’s Price Chopper, and popcorn donated by Miller 8 Theatre will be available.  Craft activities for children will be located inside City Hall arranged by Blue Springs Christian Church.
