Boynton Beach Fire Rescue has taken delivery of a new Skeeter Brush Truck Type 5 Wildland unit mounted on a Ford 550 chassis. This versatile rig, equipped with a 400 gallon water tank, offers the ability to navigate high water situations to provide both rescue and fire fighting services in harder to access areas.

Free Computer Classes for Haitian/Creole Speakers

Beginning Sep. 12, the City Library will offer free Computer/Technology Literacy Classes for Haitian Creole Speakers on Mondays from 5-8 pm. The classes will be taught in Haitian Creole and led by RTJ Group Computer Training Center. All computers and materials will be provided for students to utilize while in class.

Utility Assistance Now Available

At the August 16, 2022 City Commission meeting, the Commission extended the City’s Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Emergency Rental Assistance program for six months, through Feb. 28, 2023 or until funds are depleted. The program will now also include utility assistance for those who qualify. Low-to-moderate income individuals affected by the COVID pandemic may apply. Learn more & apply online. Fire Service Opportunities for Youth

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue is seeking local individuals (ages 14-21) to participate in its C.A.R.E.S. program, offering hands-on experience through activities and drills that demonstrate what a fire service career entails. This FREE three-phase program aims to help participants gain personal confidence, responsibility, leadership and teamwork values while teaching them about firefighting, emergency management, problem solving and community service.

Building in Boynton Workshop

On Thurs., Sept. 1, join the Development Department for a free Building in Boynton virtual workshop to learn the latest on the City's e-permitting software. Topics will include an overview of the system and a chat with the City's Electrical Plans Examiner. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the workshop. Watch Recreation and Parks Director Kacy Young discuss the "Perk Your Park" contest.
Individuals may cast a vote daily through Sept. 12 to help the City win $75,000 toward the renovation of Pioneer Canal Park.

Reminders

The City is temporarily modifying the disinfection process utilized to treat its drinking water. The process began on Wed. Aug. 17 and will continue through Tues., Sept. 6, 2022. Learn more.

The two September City Commission meetings, which are typically held on Tuesdays, will move to Thursdays to be combined with the FY 2022/2023 Budget Hearings. They will occur on Sept. 8 and Sept. 22 beginning at 6 pm.
