The City is celebrating Black History Month throughout February. View programs and events that are happening throughout the City this month.

Magic Wheels & Special Deals

On Fri., Feb. 10 at 6 pm, Giovanni Pillonato, an 11-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, will be seeing, for the first time, his custom-made “magic wheels” at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center Magic Wheels & Special Deals event at the Arts & Cultural Center. In addition, local organizations will be selling products created for and/or sold by individuals with disabilities. Food trucks, children's activities & music will be available. ASL interpreter provided. The event runs from 5 pm - 8 pm.

Barrier Free 5K

The 11th annual Barrier Free 5K race will take place on Sat., Feb. 11 beginning at 7:30 am. The race will start and end at Barrier Free Park (3111 S. Congress Ave.) and include a 5K Run/Walk, Wheelchair Division, Kids 1-miler and Kids Dash. Race highlights include AccuChip timing, race tech shirt, finisher medals and age group awards. Proceeds benefit the expansion of Barrier Free Park.

Two NEW Art Exhibitions 

Artspeak Beyond Words
Eighteen Artists from the Palm Beach County Art Teachers Assoc. will showcase their artwork at the Arts & Cultural Center (125 E. Ocean Ave.) beginning Fri., Feb.10. The artwork that is expressive and diverse, displays the visual language and elements of art that the teachers teach to student artists within the Palm Beach County School District. The exhibition is displayed in the first floor gallery until March 25.

Freestyle with Talin
Nationally recognized artist and instructor, Talin Lyman, has held "Freestyle Saturday" classes in Boynton Beach for the last eight years. This art exhibition will showcase the artwork of nine freestyle students beginning on Fri., Feb. 10 at the Arts & Cultural Center (125 E. Ocean Ave.). The exhibition is displayed in the second floor gallery through March 25. 

Hours are Mon. - Fri. (10 am - 8 pm) and Sat. (9 am - 1 pm).

New Hours:
City Hall Cashier Window

Beginning March 20, the City will change the hours of operation for City Hall's Cashier Window. New hours will be: 

Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 6 pm
Friday,  9:30 am - 2 pm

As a reminder, invoice payment may be made online 24/7.

Summer Camp
Scholarships Available

The Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides full-tuition and fees for summer camp for children ages 5-14 in families with income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Parents may choose from participating camps in Palm Beach County, including the City's camp.

Summer 2023 Parent Applications are available now through April 14, 2023 at 5 pm.

Boynton Beach Blvd. & I-95
Interchange Improvements

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements for the Boynton Beach Boulevard/I-95 Interchange Project. 

The meeting will take place virtually and in-person at Boynton Beach City Hall (100 E. Ocean Ave.) on Wed., Feb. 22 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Register to attend.

Friday Flicks

On Fri., Feb. 17 (5 pm - 8 pm), the City will feature Minions the Rise of Gru at its free Friday Flicks event at Centennial Park and Amphitheater in Downtown Boynton (120 E. Ocean Ave.). This family-friendly movie will be projected on a large screen under the City's historic Banyan trees. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Come hungry - a variety of food trucks will be on site.

Tri Rail provides transportation to local airports including Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The Boynton Beach station is located at 2800 High Ridge Rd.

Pirate Fest is BACK! Save the date for the Pirate invasion to take place on Sat., Oct. 28 & Sun., Oct. 29, 2023 in Downtown Boynton. More details to follow.

The City of Boynton Beach and Youth Enrichment Association for Academic Athletics, who supports the Boynton Beach Bulldogs Youth Tackle Football & Cheerleading Program, was awarded the Grassroots Field Grant through the NFL Foundation and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).  

The Pickleball Courts Grand Opening Ceremony has been rescheduled to Sat., March 4 from 10 am - 12 pm at the Boynton Beach Tennis and Pickleball Center (3111 S. Congress Ave.)

The deadline to register to vote in the March 14, 2023 Boynton Beach Municipal Election is Feb. 13, 2023. Only District 2 and 4 residents are slated to vote in this upcoming election. Wondering in which district you reside? Find out online by entering your address
