The East Boynton Beach Little League 12U team won the District 7 championship and will compete at the Florida State Tournament! Catch them on July 22-24 (weather permitting) at Pinellas Park National Little League as they play their hearts out.

Tax Holiday Begins July 25

Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday begins Mon., July 25, and runs through Sun., Aug. 7. During the tax holiday, no tax will be collected on the following items:
- Clothing, footwear, & some accessories ($100 or less)
- Certain school supplies ($50 or less)
- Learning aids & puzzles ($30 or less)
- Personal computers & certain computer-related accessories ($1,500 or less) when purchased for noncommercial or personal use. Learn more.

Boynton Beach
Night Market

The CRA's Boynton Beach Night Market returns to the Centennial Park & Amphitheater (120 E. Ocean Avenue) on Sat., July 30 (6 pm to 10 pm). The free, family-friendly event will feature live music from the Solid Brass Band, fun games & activities, and exhibits from a variety of local artisans, retailers, restaurants, & professional service providers.

Upcoming Improvements

Harvey E. Oyer, Jr. Park will be closed beginning Mon., Sept. 12 through mid-November 2022. During this time, all three boat ramps will undergo a complete renovation. The project cost of $1.25 million will be funded equally through the Palm Beach County One-Penny Sales Surtax and F.I.N.D. (Florida Inland Navigation District)Learn more.

The Ezell Hester, Jr. Community Park will undergo a $3.2 million renovation beginning this November. Work will include: installing synthetic turf on the multipurpose field, replacement of the grandstand and press box, the addition of sun shades over the bleachers, additional parking and security cameras. Additional improvements include lighting, drainage, irrigation and landscaping upgrades. Learn more.

Small Business
Resource Fair

On Thurs., Aug. 4 (6-7:30 pm), the City Library and Dept. of Economic Dev. & Strategy will host a Small Business Resource Fair on the first floor of City Hall (100 E. Ocean Ave.) in the FAU Innovation and Business Development space. The Resource Fair will showcase all the resources available in the City to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses. Registration is required. First Friday @ 5 Free Concert

On Fri., Aug. 5 (5 pm - 8 pm), the City will host its First Friday @ 5 Concert at Centennial Park & Amphitheater. This month’s concert will feature the Stray Dogs Band, a five-piece rock-n-roll band that plays their own versions of familiar favorites.

Hurricane Season Reminder

Palm Beach County has a Special Needs Shelter to provide for citizens with certain medical problems during a major hurricane. Physicians and nurses are on site to assist. Space is limited and is based on need and established criteria.

Advanced registration, with a physician authorization, is required; call 561-712-6400. Eligibility is determined by the Health Dept. 

City Hall Art Exhibition

To recognize exceptional artists from the Boynton Beach area, the City's Public Art Program has established an exhibition wall in City Hall Lobby (100 East Ocean Ave.). Artist Izel Vargas was selected to display his mixed media paintings of the suburban family home and its stories – an essential part of Boynton Beach history. Vargas' artwork will be displayed beginning July 22 through Sept. 27. Here's a sneak peek of two of his paintings:

The exhibition is available for viewing from 8 am - 7 pm (Monday - Thursday), Friday (8 am - 5 pm) and Saturday (9 am - 5 pm). Questions? 561-742-6026.

Year-round irrigation restrictions have been in effect since July 2021. The use of water for sprinkling and irrigation is prohibited on Friday and between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm Saturday through Thursday. Learn more.
