There are many ways to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July holiday. If you’re staying local, join the community at City Hall Park on Monday, July 4 for Brea’s 42nd Annual Country Fair. Activities are planned from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They include a pancake breakfast, car show, live entertainment, recreational swimming, a kiddie parade, a dog contest, food, games, exhibits, and a Market Place area featuring handmade gifts. Admission is free, so stop by and join the fun!

Fireworks Prohibited in Brea to Keep Our Community Safe

While enjoying the holiday weekend with friends and family, please help keep our community safe by adhering to Brea’s ban on fireworks. The sale, use, or discharge of all fireworks are prohibited in Brea, even the “safe and sane” variety sold in other cities. Fireworks are dangerous and can be harmful to you, your property, and your pets. Fireworks pose a serious fire hazard. Sparks from fireworks can travel to nearby homes or brush and ignite a fire. So, keep the fireworks to the professionals! If you are able to identify a location of someone using fireworks, please report it by calling the Brea Police Department’s non-emergency line, 714-990-7911. Violators face a fine of up to $1,000. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe!

Brea Fire Restructures Staffing Model

In an effort to enhance service to the community, the Brea Fire Department has restructured their service model. As of July 1, the Brea Fire Department has fully transitioned back to a Brea-only Fire Command staffing model. For our community, this means the fire department now has its own Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chiefs, and EMS Manager solely dedicated to Brea. In addition, the department has also entered into its first ever private ambulance contract with Emergency Ambulance Services. The ambulance company is providing the EMTs and vehicles for emergency ambulance transportation under the medical care and direction of Brea Fire Department Firefighters and Paramedics. Click here to read more details.

Report Coyote Sightings & Encounters

Coyote sightings are increasingly common in urban areas, like Brea. These predators have adapted well to changed conditions, such as prolonged drought and building encroachments upon former open space. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife maintains authority over coyotes.
