City of Buckeye Connects - February 2023

Government and Politics

February 24, 2023

From: City of Buckeye

As you look to expand your business this year here is an idea to consider when looking to tackle your workforce development needs. I came across an article by Future of Workforce Trends in 2023 by Madhurima Dey. In the article they offer several tips, here is one that stood out:

"Employees and organizations faced both possibilities and difficulties due to the Great Resignation. Employers should change their emphasis for 2023 from external recruitment to internal recruitment. In other words, companies should prioritize boomerang employees rather than external hiring.

Boomerang employees, previous employees who return to an organization after a break, will probably experience a surge in 2023. The realization that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence is starting to sink in for those who left their businesses in search of better opportunities".

As you look to fill positions, consider former employees that still may be a good fit for your organizations. Should you have any questions about expanding your search radius to help meet your hiring goals, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to assist you in your retention, expansion and workforce needs.
