Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

Happy Thanksgiving from the city of Buckeye! As a reminder, all city offices and libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend with regular business hours resuming at 7 a.m. on Nov. 28.

Trash and recycling pick-up scheduled for Thursday, moves to Friday, and Friday's collection moves to Saturday. Please have your containers on the street by 5 a.m. on your collection day.

Here are a few reminders while preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday:

-Never pour grease down the drain since it can clog sewer lines

-You can drop off used cooking oil at Public Works by calling 623-349-6802

Holiday happenings in Buckeye begin Nov. 26

Join us for Shop Small Saturday and the city's Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Buckeye this Saturday.

On Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Buckeye Mainstreet Coalition will be in Downtown Buckeye at Benbow Park with “shop small shopping bags” filled with goodies, coupons and information on the many unique shops and restaurants in the area. 

At 4:30 p.m. the holiday season officially begins with the city’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at the 6^th Street Plaza, across from City Hall. Drop off your letters to Santa, decorate cookies and make your own ornaments to take home before Mayor Eric Orsborn flips the switch on the holiday tree at dusk.

Glow on Monroe dazzles Downtown Buckeye

Join the Buckeye Main Street Coalition for the 19^th Annual Glow on Monroe Electric Light Parade, Saturday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in Downtown Buckeye.

Bring the entire family down to line Monroe Avenue as decked out displays of holiday lights on historic fire trucks, horse drawn carriages and other vintage vehicles light up downtown.
