Water Waste Reminder

The end of daylight saving time on Sunday offers residents a reminder to assess their outdoor watering needs and adjust their irrigation systems to reduce water waste – an especially important step as California enters a fourth straight year of drought. Plants simply do not need as much water during cooler months, and they typically do not need irrigation for several days after heavy rains. Are you interested in Weather Based Irrigation Controllers? Access incentives available to our customers by visiting the San Diego County Water Authority website

Encinitas Holiday Parade

The Encinitas Holiday Parade, presented by Ting Internet, will take place on the first Saturday of December. Entries will move south on Highway 101 from D Street to J Street. It is preceded by a 5 p.m. tree lighting ceremony with a brief appearance by Santa at the Lumberyard Shops courtyard (between H and I Street on the east side of 101).

Date: Saturday, Dec. 3

Time: 5:30 p.m.

Location: Coast Highway 101

The Encinitas Holiday Parade Committee is excited to announce the 2022 parade theme is “Classic Encinitas.” From cars to fashion to music, and Encinitas legends, lore and tradition at the 2022 parade. We'll see our parade entries go all out representing what "Classic Encinitas" means to them. Look forward to a blast from the past and a holiday celebration for all ages! The Parade Committee is also happy to name Encinitas’ own, Warren Raps as the 2022 Parade Grand Marshal. Give Warren a wave and a holler as he cruises the parade route at this year’s parade.

Applications are available to enter a group in the parade, so gather your group and get signed up! Register soon to guarantee your group’s spot in the parade!

For additional parade information and an application, please visit the Encinitas Parks and Recreation webpage.
