City Of Evanston - City manager search discussion, July 12

Government and Politics

June 30, 2022

From: City Of Evanston

Dear neighbor,

For several months now, the City of Evanston has been searching for a new city manager. The process has been long and confusing with multiple rounds of finalists and the need to start over more than once (in fact, more than twice).

This has all understandably left people with a lot of questions. That's why I'm pleased to have scheduled an event in partnership with the Evanston RoundTable where we can discuss the status of this situation.

I'm especially looking forward to zooming out a bit and putting all of this in context. What is a city manager? Why do we have one? (And why don't we have one?) What should we look for in this role? How does this form of government work? What are its upsides and drawbacks?

I hope you can join me:

Tuesday, July 12, 7 p.m.
Morton Civic Center, Parasol Room (4th floor)
2100 Ridge Ave.

The RoundTable's executive editor, Tracy Quattrocki, will moderate the event. You can also submit questions in advance online (or in person at the meeting). Those who prefer remote participation can watch live on City Channel 16 or on the City’s YouTube channel.

See you there!
