EVANSTON, IL - Community members are invited to join Evanston Parks & Recreation for a scary good time at the 2022 “Zombie Scramble” on Saturday, October 22!

This fall favorite event will return in 2022 after a two-year pandemic pause. Participants ages 8 and up can sign up for a time slot to complete a nearly 2-mile course through the Ladd Arboretum, Butler Park, and Twiggs Park filled with roaming “zombies.”

Community members can register through October 7 at cityofevanston.org/zombiescramble or by calling 847-448-8256. Registration is $25 for Evanston residents and $35 for non-residents, and includes food, beverages and a Zombie Scramble t-shirt while supplies last. Time slots are available starting at 5:15 p.m. through 8 p.m.

The goal of the Zombie Scramble is for participants and their team members to finish the course with all of their "lives" intact – represented by flags hanging off of a flag football belt. Throughout the course, zombies will attempt to grab participants’ flags. Those who lose their flags can still complete the race as an “infected” person.

Participants are encouraged to share their Zombie Scramble experiences on social media with #COEundead.

For Zombie Scramble rules, registration details, FAQs and more, visit cityofevanston.org/zombiescramble or call the Evanston Ecology Center at 847-448-8256.
