Mayor Harry T. Price - A Legacy of Service

It is with great sadness that the family of Fairfield Mayor Harry T. Price announces his unexpected passing on Friday, December 16th, 2022. Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Harry Price lived an exemplary life of service to his family, community and country.

Military veteran, radio announcer, actor, public school teacher, city councilmember, and mayor, Harry sought excellence in all he did. His ready smile, ability to find common ground, compassion, and support for students were hallmarks of his public service career.

During his tenure at the City, his major accomplishments included advocating for programs to keep our community safe, attracting jobs to strengthen local economy, and improving roads and streets. Mayor Price also helped develop the Safe Routes to School program and worked to improve public transportation for our seniors. Travis Air Force Base was close to Harry's heart and he championed their cause unfailingly. He believed Fairfield had a bright future and his unwavering service exemplified words in action and brought our community together.

He loved his family and his city greatly. He leaves a tremendous legacy of service above self and will be deeply missed by his many friends and family. City staff members and colleagues considered him a tremendous leader, mentor and friend. His absence will be felt for a long time to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Leaven, Centers for Children at Risk, in his memory.
