Annual Independence Day Parade premiers Friday

With an estimated 15,000 in attendance, the Fourth of July Parade in downtown Fairfield may have been the largest ever. Residents and visitors alike came out to be enjoy the festivities and celebrate our country’s independence. This year’s theme was the “Land of the Free,” and over 50 entries from around the region lined Texas Street in true red, white, and blue fashion.

If you weren’t able to attend the parade, it will begin airing Friday, July 29, at 6:00 pm on Comcast/Xfinity Channel 26, and will repeat daily at 8:00 am and 6:00 pm throughout August. You can also view it on-demand on YouTube/FCATV and  www.fairfield.ca.gov/parade.

The next parade is on November 11, 2002, Veteran’s Day. The celebration will kick-off with a morning concert followed by the parade and activities to follow. For more information, check the city’s website at Fairfield.ca.gov/events.
