Fireworks are illegal in Fairfield!

Each July 4th, thousands of people, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks. Additionally, millions of acres have been burned with catastrophic results due to various factors including illegal fireworks. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks - devastating burns, other injuries, fires, and even death.

Any person who starts a fire from fireworks, even accidentally, can be held liable for the fire suppression costs as well as property damage costs. Additionally, anyone caught with illegal fireworks could face severe fines and even arrest. The best way to stay safe from fireworks is to not use them and instead, attend a public fireworks display put on by professionals.

This year, like every year, the Fairfield Fire Department wants to remind everyone that it is illegal to use, sell, or discharge any type of fireworks or explosive devices in the city of Fairfield. Please help keep our community safe! We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.
