As part of the City of Fairfield’s Digital Inclusion, Equity, and Broadband project to increase broadband access and adoption, the City will host a free Get Connected Day event on October 22, 2022. Qualified individuals will be able to receive assistance signing up for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and receive discounted internet service, and/or discounted hardware (laptop), or free phone with service.

“Get Connected Fairfield” event details: 

Saturday, October 22

8 AM – 12 PM
Fairfield Adult Recreation Center (ARC) Christensen Room
1200 Civic Center Drive, Fairfield

T-Mobile’s Assurance Wireless and Comcast Xfinity will have representatives available to help inform and signup eligible residents to utilize the ACP, a federal government program that provides a discount on monthly high-speed internet service bills for qualifying low-income households. Eligible households can receive a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet services. The program also allows eligible households to receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

Those who participate in any of the following government programs may qualify under the Affordable Connectivity Program:

-Cal-Fresh/Food Stamps/SNAP

Medicaid

-Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

-Veterans Pension benefit or Survivors Pension

-Federal Public Housing Assistance or Section 8

-The free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program

-Federal Pell Grant during the current award year

-The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) 

Please bring the following to enroll onsite:
-Proof of identity documentation
-Proof of Eligibility documentation
-A valid email address
