Affordable Connectivity Program - discounts on internet service and devices

The new federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) helps households afford internet and devices they need for school, work, healthcare, and more!

On February 25, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a report and order that established the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB), a $3.2 billion federal initiative to help lower the cost of high-speed internet for eligible households during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Congress recently created the Affordable Connectivity Program, a new, long-term $14 billion program that replaced the EBB Program.

The ACP is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare, and more. The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

AT&T Access Program (www.att.com/internet/access/) and Comcast Internet Essentials (www.internetessentials.com) are two local internet service providers participating in the ACP. The link below includes all California providers that have elected to participate in the Affordable Connectivity Program. Contact your preferred provider directly to learn more about their plans for participating in the ACP and the services they may offer as part of the program.
