Fairfield's Fire Marshal Steven Conti announced National Fire Prevention Week is October 9 - 15, 2022.  The theme this year is “Fire Won’t Wait, Plan Your Escape.” City Council will present a proclamation declaring this important annual event at the next council meeting on October 4, 2022.

With the ever-increasing threat of fire season in California, Fire Prevention Week is important to increase the awareness of fire safety in the community.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Fairfield Fire Department will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, October 13, at Fire Station 37 at 1200 Kentucky Street, 5-8 p.m. The event will provide fun activities for the local community, as well as critical fire safety education.

The Department will provide free hot dogs and refreshments, kids’ goodie bags, tours of the fire engines, a hands-on fire extinguisher demo, an inflatable fire education house, a kids’ firefighter activity course, a guest appearance from Sparky the Fire Dog, and the official FFD photo booth.

The annual Open House event will feature plenty of entertainment for the entire family, while also educating residents on fire safety and prevention.
