City Council Meetings to Resume September 6, 2022

Following the annual August recess, City Council meetings will resume on September 6th. Community members may notice a change, as we begin a phased approach to resuming in-person City Council meetings. Beginning in September, City Councilmembers and critical City staff (City Manager, City Attorney, City Clerk, etc.) will return to Council Chambers to conduct meetings. Public participation will remain virtual, as will that of other presenting staff and guests. This phased approach will allow City Council members to convene and engage with follow Council colleagues, while limiting the exposure risk of Covid, which is still impacting our community and workforce. The City will continue to monitor public health conditions and use this time to ensure smooth functionality with the new Council Chamber technical systems before deciding when to allow in-person public participation.

All City Commissions will continue meeting virtually.

Disability Resource Festival and Opportunity to Meet First Responders

The Disability Resource Festival and Opportunity to Meet First Responders takes place on Sunday, September 25 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the City of Fremont's Downtown Event Center. The goal of this free resource fair is to build positive relationships between the disability community and first responders while connecting people with disabilities and their families to helpful area resources. The City’s Fire and Police Departments will conduct demonstrations. Local agencies providing services for those with disabilities will be on hand to share information. This event is brought to you by the City of Fremont Human Relations Commission in partnership with Mission Valley Special Education Local Planning Area and Friends of Children with Special Needs with support from the City of Fremont Human Services Department.
