New Date for Flag-Raising for Black History Month

As a result of unfortunate news and circumstances the City regrettably postponed a planned February 1 Black History month flag-raising. The new date for the flag-raising is Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 5:30 pm in front of City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave. On January 31, in accordance with City of Fremont Administrative Regulation 1.10, City Manager Karena Shackelford authorized all City flags be lowered to half-staff due to the unexpected passing of a City of Fremont employee. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this difficult time and we look forward to honoring and celebrating Black History Month with the raising of a flag later this month.apartments, homes, and hanging sign with Final Report in text. Final Results of the Keep Fremont Housed Program
With many renters facing economic challenges and layoffs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Fremont received Federal and State Emergency Rental Assistance funding to assist local tenants and landlords. The City used these funds to create the Keep Fremont Housed Program, which offered up to 12 months of rental and utility assistance for each approved applicant. From April 1, 2021 through November 30, 2022, the program approved 1,450 applications for a total of $17.2 million in rental and utility assistance. To learn more about how this program supported our most vulnerable minority communities, small mom-and-pop landlords, and low-income tenants, read the full report.
