Better Block Mission San Jose - 9/9 & 9/10

In partnership with the Better Block Foundation, the City will test an exciting, temporary transformation of Ellsworth Street in the historic Mission San Jose district this September 9 & 10, 2022. This community-led vision will reimagine Ellsworth Street as a lively, safe, and welcoming neighborhood space and thriving commercial district for all, ultimately helping to spark creativity around the use of this public space. Over the course of six weeks, Better Block collected over 130 responses from the local community to spark inspiration for what would make this area a thriving commercial district that everyone can enjoy. The two-day community block party will have something for all ages including live entertainment, a makers market, food trucks, and a beer garden. See you there!

HERS 23rd Annual Walk/Run/Yoga and Community Expo! - 9/24 

Join the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation at Quarry Lakes Regional Park on Saturday, September 24, 2022, and choose to participate in their 5k walk, 5k or 10k timed run, or our all-levels outdoor yoga session. Registered participants will receive giveaways, a goodie bag, a commemorative t-shirt, and a BBQ lunch hosted by long-time donor Dutra Enterprises, Inc. Before you walk, run, or practice yoga, enjoy a rousing Bollywood warmup, a light breakfast, a raffle, and entertainment!

Disability Resource Festival - 9/25

The Disability Resource Festival and Opportunity to Meet First Responders takes place on Sunday, September 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the City of Fremont’s Downtown Event Center. The goal of this free resource fair is to build positive relationships between the disability community and first responders while connecting people with disabilities and their families to helpful area resources. The City’s Fire and Police Departments will conduct demonstrations. Local agencies providing services for those with disabilities will be on hand to share information. This event is brought to you by the City of Fremont Human Relations Commission in partnership with Mission Valley Special Education Local Planning Area and Friends of Children with Special Needs with support from the City of Fremont Human Services Department.

Movies Under the Stars - 9/30 & 10/14

You are invited to outdoor movie nights this fall on Friday, September 30, 2022 featuring Encanto! This event takes place at the Central Park Palms Pavilion Picnic Area located behind Aqua Adventure Waterpark. The movie will start in the evening after sunset. This event is FREE, so grab some blankets, low beach chairs, and a picnic dinner. Closed captioning available. Save the date for an October 14, 2022 Movies Under the Stars event and the movie for that evening will be announced at a later time.

Coffee With a Cop - 10/5 

On this National Coffee with a Cop Day, stop by the Fremont Police Department to have a chat with our officers. The event offers an informal and friendly setting for community members to meet and greet with members of the Police Department. You are invited to discuss public safety or neighborhood concerns and get acquainted! This event is sponsored by Mission Coffee. We hope to see you there!

Fremont Public Safety Fair - 10/8

Join us at the Fremont Police Safety Fair as we fall into autumn! Hosted by the Fremont Police Department, the Public Safety Fair aims to inform community members about public safety services and to provide tips on crime prevention and traffic safety. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and will showcase our police vehicles and equipment, including our patrol cars, the mobile command vehicle, SWAT vehicle, just to name a few. Several other city departments and outside agencies will also be participating. Meet our command staff and provide feedback on issues that matter to the community the most! Our event is designed for community members of all ages and will feature many exhibits, food trucks, free crime prevention talks, and giveaways.

Public Safety Fair Information

Come Join us for the last Fremont Street Eats of 2022 on Friday, October 21st, from 5:00 p.m. - 9 p.m. This will be a Special Halloween Edition, with themed games, food, and treats. Enjoy live music while you savor food trucks from all over the city or make a quick run for grab and go! Free parking and seating are available. Have your little ones dressed in their best Halloween Costume for a Costume Contest and Parade. The event is hosted by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Food Truck Mafia and the City of Fremont. 

Gurdwara Diwali - 10/24 

Diwali is a Festival of Lights and is a traditional celebration of happiness. The event is open to the public and there will be food and festivities. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to get together, celebrate this tradition, learn about its history, and meditate for blessings.

Niles Festival of the Lights Parade - 11/25 

The Christmas season kicks off in Niles with the annual Festival of Lights Parade on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Sponsored by the members of the Niles community and the Fremont community at large, this wonderful holiday tradition features over 60 unique floats and other entries, marching bands, specialty service units, costumed characters, and of course, an appearance by the man himself - Santa Claus.

Gurdwara New Year's Eve Party - 12/31

A celebration of the new year, the event is open to the public and there will be food and festivities. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to get together, celebrate this tradition, learn about it's history, and meditate and pray for blessings.
