Coffee with the Mayor, Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Veterans Day Ceremony following at 11 a.m

Join Mayor Jeff Cheney next Friday, November 11 for the last 'Coffee with the Mayor' for 2022. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at The Grove at Frisco Commons (8300 McKinney Rd.) and hear from members of the Frisco Veterans Advisory Committee and learn all about what Frisco is doing to be Veteran friendly and Veteran ready. After the meeting, walk over to Frisco Commons for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, coordinated by the American Legion, Peter J Courcy Post 178. The event begins at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Veterans Memorial

NEXT Saturday, November 12

Join us for this Frisco tradition as we honor our veterans and celebrate community spirit! The Frisco Community Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 12. Bring the whole family and grab a spot along Main Street to watch as the parade marches from Toyota Stadium down to North County Road in Downtown Frisco. 

The annual parade fosters a 'small town feel' among our diverse, growing community and features floats, school marching bands, high school football teams, cheerleaders, scouts, civic organizations and local businesses. This year's Grand Marshal is Mack Borchardt, Special Assistant to the City Manager, former Fire Chief and Frisco native.

Main Street will be closed between World Cup Way and Dogwood Street Saturday morning between 6 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Frisco Street will also be closed between Technology Drive and Main Street during the same time. Heading to the parade? Save these maps:

WATCH: New and Updated Outdoor Warning Sirens

Tomorrow, November 4, is a day to be #WeatherAware. The Emergency Operations Center has multiple ways to monitor and alert residents when severe storms become a threat. In fact, the city recently installed new outdoor warning sirens in northwest Frisco and updated the technology in several existing sirens. Watch this #ProgressinMotion video and go to FriscoTexas.gov/BePrepared to better understand how and when the city sounds outdoor sirens.

Big Bluestem Trail Opens on November 19
Limited Number of Tickets Available

Following years of anticipation, the City of Frisco is introducing residents to Grand Park by opening Big Bluestem Trail. An inaugural trail walk will be held November 19 at 9 a.m. The trailhead for Big Bluestem is located off Cotton Gin Road, between Dallas Parkway and Legacy Drive. 

Only registered event participants are invited for the preview from 9-11 a.m. Limited spots available. Register online to participate. Following the morning event, the trail will open to the public at 11 a.m. For your safety, please wait to explore the trail until after the November 19 opening. Read the press release for more details.

WATCH: Stormwater Division Receives National Recognition

The Stormwater Division of Frisco Public Works was honored Tuesday night by Mayor Jeff Cheney for its recent awards received from the Water Environment Federation for Program Management & Innovation.

Stormwater Manager Perry Harts and his team (pictured above) explain how teamwork, along with natural and innovative solutions, led to this national recognition in this week’s #ProgressinMotion.

Please note - the Environmental Collection Center, including the Household Chemical and Electronics Disposal and Reuse Center, will be CLOSED on Saturday, November 12 for the Community Parade.
