Following years of anticipation, the City of Frisco is introducing residents to Grand Park by opening Big Bluestem Trail.  An inaugural trail walk will be held November 19 at 9 a.m. The trailhead for Big Bluestem is located off Cotton Gin Road, between Dallas Parkway and Legacy Drive.

“We’re so excited to welcome the community to start exploring this trail,” said Mayor Jeff Cheney. “Our city has aspired to develop Grand Park for many years.  In fact, the idea of Grand Park is one of the projects that inspired me to run for city council. I believe this trail marks the beginning of developing a legacy park destined to become one of our city’s greatest attractions for residents, visitors and future generations.”

Following the morning event, the trail will open to the public at 11 a.m. For your safety, please wait to explore the trail until after the November 19 opening. Read the press release for more details and to register for the preview event.

Big Bluestem is the latest addition to Frisco Hike and Bike Trails presented by Children’s Health. For more information on Big Bluestem and all our trails, go to PlayFrisco.org/Trails.

A city council-appointed Citizens Bond Committee has started its meetings to review and assess the city's needs for capital improvement projects like roads, facilities, parks and public safety over the next five years. The 15-memeber volunteer committee is made up of Frisco residents who will meet through January and then recommend a list of projects and anticipated financial investment to the city council. City council members may then consider calling for a Bond Election to be held in May 2023.

Follow along with the committee's meetings and see the 15 resident volunteers serving on it at FriscoTexas.gov/bond. All residents are welcome to share their ideas for projects. Contact the committee by emailing [email protected].
