Winter Weather Preparations

Make your list and check it twice as you prepare to protect your people, pets, pipes and plants from extreme cold temperatures this holiday weekend. A strong cold front is expected beginning Thursday morning, December 22, with wind chills dropping temperatures below freezing Thursday night into Friday morning.

Make sure your automatic sprinkler system is turned off to prevent unwanted icing of sidewalks, driveways and streets.

WATCH this video featuring one of our licensed irrigators explaining how to 'shut off' your water in case of a plumbing emergency. If you still cannot stop the flow, call Public Works at 972-292-5800.

Readmore cold weather tipsfrom Public Works on our website.

Prepare for possible power outages by having flashlights and batteries ready. Stay weather aware by following along with the National Weather Service and local weather reports.

Season's Greetings from Frisco City Council!

City of Frisco Holiday Hours;
Curbside Recycling and Trash Schedule Not Impacted

City of Frisco administrative offices at City Hall, Frisco Municipal Court, Central Fire Administration and Frisco Fire Safety Town will be closed on Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26, reopening Monday, December 27. The same city offices will also close Monday, January 2, 2023 in observance of New Year's Day.

Other city facilities' holiday hours are available on our website.

Weekly curbside collection will NOT be impacted by the holidays as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on a Sunday. Visit friscotexas.gov/recycle for more information.

Live Holiday Tree Recycling

Recycle your live holiday tree into compost and mulch, in 3 easy steps!

Remove all stands, lights, wiring, tinsel & ornaments.

Cut trees over 5ft tall into sections no more than 5ft long and 60 lbs each.

Place out on service day, uncovered, at least 3 feet from carts at edge of the driveway.

NOTE: Flocked or artificial trees are not compostable. Please call Frisco Environmental Services at 972-292-5900 to schedule a free bulk trash pickup.

Fight “FOG” Clogs this Holiday Season

Fats, oils and grease (FOG) poured down kitchen drains cool and solidify somewhere between your sink and the street. Over time, "FOG clogs" can lead to pipe ruptures and costly repairs. Never pour leftover FOG down any drains that lead to Frisco's municipal sewer system.

Instead, bring used cooking oil and grease to the City of Frisco’s Environmental Collection Center and deposit in the designated Cooking Oil/Grease recycling container. Watch this Progress in Motion video to learn more about this service.

Utility Rate Increase Effective January 1

Frisco utility customers will have new rates for water, sewer and solid waste services on January 2023 bills. The Frisco City Council approved these rate increases on September 20, 2022 (see Ordinance No. 22-09-49) for residential and commercial utility accounts. For more information, including the new rates, visit our Utility Billing webpage or contact customer service at 972-292-5575.
