Gaithersburg, MD (November 14, 2022) The Arts Barn is pleased to welcome back the Gaithersburg Artist Collective “Artists on Market” for a special holiday exhibit on display November 25, 2022, through January 8, 2023. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Viewing hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m., during events and other activities, or by appointment.

Meet the artists and view their works at an Artists Reception on Saturday, November 26 from 4 to 6 p.m.  The reception is open to all and is free to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Visitors are also invited to “Meet Artists on Market” on Saturday, December 10 from Noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy watching artist demonstrations in the teaching studios and browse an extended inventory during this special event. This year’s exhibit features more than 1,200 unique, handmade items by members of the Gaithersburg Artist Collective, many perfect for the season’s gift giving. Items include paintings, prints, cards, ceramics, photography, jewelry, art glass, turned wood, mixed media and much more.

The Collective last exhibited at the Arts Barn during the 2020 holiday season with many subsequent requests to have them back. “We were so delighted that the Collective had a break in their pop-up schedule, which has allowed them to come back to the Arts Barn,” says City Gallery Program Coordinator Jaree Donnelly. “As a juried group, we know their work is going to be top-notch and they have such a breadth of mediums represented in their membership. We hope that the community will really enjoy this exhibit and that everyone will be able to find a treasure to take home with them this season.”

Artists on Market is pop-up gallery and studio space where visitors may shop for unique art and handcrafts from 27 juried collective members - all local artists - recognized for their talent in painting, collage, fiber, ceramics, jewelry, photography, glass, sculpture, and more. The mission of the Gaithersburg Artist Collective, which runs Artists on Market, is to bring the visual arts to the community through not only the pop-up gallery, but also by providing events and educational opportunities for all ages, year-round. The Collective is a program of the Kentlands Community Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to volunteerism, the cultural arts and New Urbanism.  For more information, please visit kentlands.org.

In addition to the exhibit, the Collective will have a holiday giving box available in the Arts Barn Gallery to help collect food for local food banks, warm clothing for The Dwelling Place, and Little Free Library books.
