Gaithersburg, MD (February 3, 2023) Registration for Gaithersburg’s popular summer camp and clinic programs, held in convenient locations throughout the City, opens on February 15 for City of Gaithersburg residents. Open registration starts February 22. Register online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/recxpress or in person the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue, next to Gaithersburg High School.

The primary goal of Gaithersburg Summer Camp programs is to offer a safe and positive environment for campers to develop social and physical skills, self-confidence and to just have fun.

Please note that the full field trip schedule for the 2023 camp season has not yet been confirmed, but campers will swim twice a week at the Gaithersburg Water Park. Camp locations scheduled at schools may also be subject to change depending on MCPS summer school programs. Visit the City’s website for updates.

The majority of camps begin the third week of June and operate in convenient one-week sessions that provide flexibility for summer family adventures. This summer’s offerings also include preschool and kindergarten programs, and specialty camps in sports, dance, visual and performing arts, video and music production, STEM, and skateboarding for youth and teens. Explore all of our summer camp and program options here.

Learn more about summer programs and camp options at a free Summer in the City Day on Saturday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Enjoy music, games, activities, popcorn, and a moon bounce while learning about City camps and summer programs.

An engaging volunteer and workforce development program is available for high school ages to assist in the City’s summer programs. Youth must apply and undergo an interview process to be selected as a volunteer or intern. The City is also seeking qualified applicants ages 18 and older to work during the summer. Applicants should enjoy working with young people and be talented in arts, music and/or sports. Job openings are posted on the Job Opportunities page on the City’s website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov.

The Dolores C. Swoyer Camp Scholarship Fund provides City of Gaithersburg families with financial assistance so their children can participate in our summer camp experiences. Donations can be made by calling 301-258-6350.

Payment plans are available for select programs prior to May 15, and City residents who qualify may apply for financial assistance for eligible programs prior to registration. Join us for a Financial Aid Workshop on March 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Olde Towne Youth Center for one-on-one assistance with the financial aid process.

For complete details, explore the camp pages on the City’s website. Printed guides will be available at City facilities in late February.
