City Of Galveston News : Short-Term Rental Registration Due By December 31

Government and Politics

December 5, 2022

From: City Of Galveston

Short-term rental operators, hotels, motels and bed-and-breakfasts are required to renew existing and register new properties by the end of the year.

Following city ordinance, vacation rental owners must register their properties and display their Galveston Vacation Rental (GVR) registration numbers on all platform listings, including Airbnb and VRBO. Annual registration fees are $250.

Registered short-term rental owners will receive an email from the Galveston Park Board with instructions on how to renew the property’s registration.

Failure to renew a property’s registration will result in the registration becoming invalid, and you will be unable to list your property on all STR platforms. If the property is managed by a management company, please check with them to see how they are handling registration renewal.

Registration for 2023 is now open and easy to complete online. For new registrations, please visit https://parkboard.destinationnext.com/HOT/new-user.aspx. To renew your registration, please visit https://parkboard.destinationnext.com/hot/. Registered short-term rental property owners can get a free listing on the destination website. Go to www.visitgalveston.com/str-sign-up/ to add your listing.

Registration for 2023 will continue throughout December.
