The 2022 Summer Reading Program ends July 30th at the Goleta & Santa Ynez Valley Libraries
It’s time to celebrate the amazing reading done by our community this summer! The 2022 Summer Reading Program will draw to a close this Saturday, July 30th at the Goleta & Santa Ynez Valley Libraries. Stop by your local branch to redeem your final prizes and enjoy exciting programs at Goleta Valley Library and Solvang Library!

Goleta Valley Library
Join us for an End-of-Program Summer Splash at Goleta Valley Library (500 N. Fairview Avenue) from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. this Saturday, July 30th! Local publisher Seven Seas Press will be distributing free copies of their newest children’s book Makana, and author Janet Lucy will be signing copies of her book for young readers. Stop by the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum table to learn about the ocean and receive free museum passes. A special guest from UCSB H.E.A.R. will also be sharing books and activities about treating animals with compassion. You won't want to miss the amazing Ice in Paradise polar bear mascot, too!

Explore the fun activity stations set up throughout the library, including face painting, crafts, games, prizes, a “Guess How Many” contest, and ocean-themed sensory bins!

Solvang Library
The Friends of the Library of Santa Ynez Valley will be hosting an Ice Cream Social on Saturday, July 30th at 3:00 p.m. on the Solvang Library lawn (1745 Mission Drive)! The event is both to celebrate all the summer readers and to thank our volunteers and the community businesses and organizations who donated prizes to the Summer Reading Program. The entire community is welcome to attend to celebrate reading!

Kids and teens, be sure to bring your reading logs to tell us about your reading – it’s the final day to receive your prizes! Adults, enter your tickets into our prize drawings for every book you read during the program. Winners will be notified the first week of August.
