Stay Cool at the Goleta Valley Library

People are encouraged to take precautions to protect themselves from excessive heat conditions

During periods of excessive heat, the City wants to remind the public that the Goleta Valley Library (500 N. Fairview Ave) is open and a great place to stay cool. Hours of operation are: Tuesday-Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday & Saturday 10am-5:30pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm.

Thank You Michelle Greene

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Michelle Greene who finished her last day as our incredible City Manager this past Wednesday, August 31, after 18 years of dedicated service to Goleta, including eight as City Manager.

At her last Council meeting Ms. Greene said, “It’s been a tremendous honor for me to have served the community for so many years in Goleta. I am proud of what we have accomplished. We’ve worked on a number of high priority issues while facing unprecedented challenges and I am proud of how we matured as an organization.” Read more...

Welcome Goleta's New City Manager

We are excited to welcome Robert Nisbet as Goleta’s new City Manager! Mr. Nisbet was sworn in at City Hall and took his oath of office on his first day, September 1.

Goleta’s Dam Dinner Doesn’t Disappoint

The return of Goleta’s Dam Dinner after a three-year hiatus brought a record turnout on Saturday, August 20, 2022, to the Lake Los Carneros dam. More than 500 people, many carrying picnic dinners and baked goods to share, flocked to the scenic spot for the #BestDamDinner they have ever had. While many who attended have been coming to the Dam Dinner since it started, we were pleased there were many first-timers as well. Whatever the case, it was the usual, simple, low-key, casual event that keeps people coming back year after year. Read more...
